Tour Package

Somnath Dwarka Tour Package from Ahmedabad

This tour takes you from Ahmedabad down to two of Gujarat's most visited pilgrimage towns, Somnath and Dwarka, with a stop at Porbandar along the coastal route. It's a trip many families and pilgrim groups plan around temple darshan timings and the evening aarti, and we build the itinerary around that rather than rushing between stops.

Starting City

Ahmedabad

Suggested Duration

3-4 Days

Destinations

Somnath, Porbandar, Dwarka, Bet Dwarka

Itinerary

Suggested day-by-day plan

Day 1

Ahmedabad to Somnath

An early start from Ahmedabad with a long but comfortable drive down towards Somnath. Depending on your preference, we can plan a lunch stop along the way. Evening is kept free for the Somnath Jyotirlinga darshan and the sound-and-light show at the temple complex.

Day 2

Somnath to Dwarka via Porbandar

Leaving Somnath in the morning, the drive to Dwarka runs along the coast through Porbandar, where many groups stop to visit Kirti Mandir, Mahatma Gandhi's birthplace. Arrival in Dwarka in the afternoon, with the evening free for the Dwarkadhish Temple aarti.

Day 3

Dwarka Local Sightseeing

A day for Dwarka's other landmarks, including Bet Dwarka (a short boat ride from the mainland) and the Rukmini Devi Temple. This day is kept relatively unhurried given how much of it depends on boat timings and temple queues.

Day 4

Return Towards Ahmedabad

Return drive to Ahmedabad, with a flexible stop option along the way if the group would like to break up the journey.

Along The Way

Key attractions on this tour

Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple

One of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines in India, set right on the coast, with a well-known evening aarti and sound-and-light presentation on the temple's history.

Dwarkadhish Temple

The main temple dedicated to Lord Krishna in Dwarka, at the centre of the town, with a distinctive multi-storeyed spire.

Bet Dwarka

An island near Dwarka reached by a short boat crossing, associated with Krishna's residence and home to another significant temple.

Kirti Mandir, Porbandar

Mahatma Gandhi's ancestral home in Porbandar, now maintained as a memorial, and a common stop on the coastal drive between Somnath and Dwarka.

Who It's For

Is this tour right for your group?

  • Families visiting Somnath and Dwarka together
  • Pilgrim groups planning darshan around temple timings
  • Couples and small groups wanting a relaxed coastal Gujarat itinerary

The pace is comfortable for multi-generational family groups, with stops planned around meals and rest rather than back-to-back sightseeing.

Both Somnath and Dwarka are among the most significant pilgrimage sites in Gujarat. We plan pickup times around the temple's opening hours and evening aarti wherever possible, and drivers are used to navigating the approach roads and parking near both temples.

Travel Tips

Good to know before you go

  • Both temples can involve walking on stone or uneven surfaces near the entrance — comfortable footwear helps.
  • Evening aarti timings shift slightly through the year, so we confirm the current schedule closer to your travel date.
  • Bet Dwarka's boat service runs through the day but can pause in rough weather, so we keep some flexibility in the schedule for that leg.
