Can we do Saputara as a one-day trip?

It's possible, but a one-day trip means less time to relax at the destination. Most of our groups prefer at least one overnight stay to enjoy the lake and viewpoints without rushing.

Is Gira Falls always included in the trip?

We include it as a stop along the way by default since it doesn't add much travel time, but let us know if you'd like to skip it.

What vehicle works best for the ghat road to Saputara?

Sedan and Ertiga are both comfortable for this route. For larger groups, Innova Crysta or Tempo Traveller can be arranged.

Day 1

Surat to Saputara via Gira Falls

Depart Surat in the morning and drive towards Saputara, stopping at Gira Waterfalls en route, especially worth it if you're travelling during or just after monsoon. Check in at Saputara by afternoon, with the evening free for boating at Saputara Lake and a walk around the Lake Garden.

Day 2

Sunset Point, Tribal Museum, and Return

Morning visit to Sunset Point and the Saputara Tribal Museum, followed by a relaxed drive back to Surat in the afternoon.

The ghat road up to Saputara has several curves — if anyone in your group is prone to motion sickness, mention it and we'll plan a steadier pace.
Gira Falls is at its best during and shortly after monsoon; in drier months it can be a much smaller flow.
Evenings in Saputara are noticeably cooler than Surat, so it's worth carrying a light jacket.
